Vanessa Bryant has sued the L.A. County Sheriff over leaked photographs from the crash website that killed her husband, Kobe Bryant, and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant.
The swimsuit seeks damages for negligence, invasion of privateness and intentional infliction of emotional misery.
“This lawsuit is about accountability and about stopping this disgraceful conduct from occurring to different households sooner or later who’ve suffered loss,” Bryant’s lawyer, Luis Li, stated in a press release. “The division formally refused Mrs. Bryant’s requests for info, saying it was ‘unable to help’ with any inquiry and had no authorized obligation to take action. It is now for a courtroom to inform the division what its obligations are.”
Sheriff Alex Villanueva beforehand informed reporters that eight deputies took or shared graphic photographs of the scene, and he ordered the pictures deleted.
